Electronic Batch Registration to Common Works Registration Conversion Tool

This is a basic free tool for converting EBR files into CWR files. Please note that EBR only contains performance rights data. There is an experimental option to auto-calculate mechanical and synchronization rights data as double the PR share for publishers and none for authors, which is basically the standard.

If you are an original publisher or administrator and your goal is to send the file to a sub-publisher, this may be enough. You may want to select ‘Only World Territory’ option in that case.

Extending it any further requires manual work. Therefore we can only offer it as a paid service. You can learn more about it in the article EBR and CWR. Please use the links below to contact us. In the meantime, feel free to experiment with this free version.

You should use your own data in the form below, especially IPI NAME #, because your receiving party most likely requires it on their end. Sender code and file counter are used for creating a file name. If you want to send the file to a society, you must acquire the sender code. You should increment the counter for each subsequent file, starting with 1 in each year.

You may want to upload the generated CWR file to Visual CWR Validator, hovering over the data provides additional information.

EBR to CWR Conversion

Standard mode

In Standard mode, the tool accepts only EBR files created from a Standard Template. Only register users can use all the fields from the Full Template. It is still free, we just want to know who you are. Please log in if you are a registered user. Contact us if Standard is not enough.
File
Choose EBR file for conversion.
Start with 1 and increase for each subsequent file. Used in filename generation.
2 or 3-digit code required for exchanging CWR files. Used in filename generation.
The name of the publisher sending the file. Used in HDR row.
IPI name number of the publisher sending the file. Used in HDR row.
Add shares for mechanical rights to publishers. Works only if all entities are controlled and work is published.
Add shares for syncronization rights to publishers. Works only if all entities are controlled and work is published.
Ignore all territories except World (2136). More suited for files to be sent to sub-publishers.
Select this option only if you can not fix the errors the converter reports. It will try some dirty tricks to fix the errors, but the resulting file will probably be a bloody mess.
